FIX support

Agora Exchange Engine supports the FIX protocol as one of its various ingress options letting brokers connect and submit their orders or fetch market data. As of now, only FIX version 4.2 is supported.

In order to the test the FIX functionality, it is advised to use a FIX client. The client may be a CLI application, or a desktop one. We prefer a desktop FIX client application as it can clearly demonstrate the incoming and outgoing FIX messages and their fields, letting you easily investigate issues or development use cases.

We have already tested a few FIX desktop clients and FIXYL has been the one we have chosen for our investigation and development purposes. In the following section, we will explain how FIXYL can be downloaded and installed.
